107 years have passed since the establishment of the Azerbaijani Army

Today is the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On 26 June, 1918, by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first regular military unit - the Separate Corps was established. 
After Azerbaijan regained its state independence, 
all the country's resources were mobilized for the construction of a national army. The first serious steps were taken from volunteer battalions to a regular army. The foundation for the construction of a professional army in the country was laid in late 1993 under the leadership of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Illegal armed formations were abolished in Azerbaijan, a unified command was created, chaos was put to an end, and a regular army was formed. 
By the decree signed by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev on 22 May, 1998, a crucial step was taken in restoring the traditions of succession in the construction of the National Army, and June 26 was declared the Day of the Armed Forces.
By the decrees and orders of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully implemented the strategic policy of the great leader in the field of army building, a modern military-industrial complex was created in the country, and the Armed Forces were equipped with contemporary weapons and military equipment.
On 27 September, 2020, as a consequence of the counter-offensive operations launched by the brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief for the freedom of our occupied lands, victory was achieved over the enemy. 
On 19 September, 2023, as a result of the measures that lasted a little more than 23 hours, the Constitutional order was restored in all territories of Azerbaijan.
We pray to God for mercy on all martyrs who lost their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and we wish the veterans good health.
The mission of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces is to protect the independence, territorial integrity and freedom of the Azerbaijani state.
