September 27 is the Day of Memorial (Remembrance) of the Martyrs of the Patriotic War!

5 years have passed since the start of the Patriotic War.
In accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, September 27 is celebrated as the Day of Memorial (Remembrance) in Azerbaijan every year as a sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, as well as all our martyrs.
On the morning of 27 September, 2020, in response to the large-scale military provocations of the Armenian Armed Forces, the command of the Azerbaijani army decided to launch a rapid counteroffensive operation of the troops along the entire front. This operation, later called "Iron Fist", turned into the Patriotic War.
During the 44-day war, Jabrayil was liberated on 4 October, Fuzuli on 17 October, Zangilan on 20 October, Gubadli on 25 October, and Shusha on 8 November. On 10 November, military operations were suspended in accordance with the Trilateral Declaration signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. The enemy signed an act of capitulation.
On 20 November, 2020, Aghdam, on 25 November, and Kelbajar, on 1 December, 2023, local anti-terrorist measures were launched in the region in order to ensure the provisions of the trilateral declaration and restore the constitutional order of Azerbaijan.
As a result of the anti-terrorist measures that lasted just one day, the separatist regime in Karabakh raised the white flag.
It should be noted that this year, President Ilham Aliyev signed a Decree on the establishment of State Sovereignty Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the decree, September 20 of each year will be celebrated as the Day of State Sovereignty in our country.
May God have mercy on our martyrs!
