The collection process of seeds of various plant species was carried out in the “Dendrology Garden”

In connection with the completion of the vegetation stage of plants in the autumn season, favorable conditions are created for the natural ripening and collection of seeds. 
For this aim, the staff of the “Forest Ecosystems” laboratory of the “Dendrology Garden” public legal entity (PLE) under the authority of the head of the Executive Power of Baku City carried out the collection process of seeds of various plant species such as Ceratonia siliqua L. (Hornberry), Caesalpinia gilliesii (Sesalpinia), Xanthoceras sorbifolium (Three-leaf Jackfruit), Colutea arborescens L. (Tree-like Rattan), etc. 
The collection work was carried out taking into account the phenological state of the plants, weather conditions and the degree of full ripening of the seeds. 
Seed samples were selected in field conditions and collected in special nets or paper sacks (bags), each sample was marked with appropriate labels. 
The basic goal of the collection process was to obtain healthy and high-quality seeds with high germination capacity. 
At the same time, the collected seed samples were stored for future biological and agrotechnical studies. 
In general, seed collection carried out in the fall is considered one of the main stages for the continuity of scientific research and practical planting work.
