February 2 is Azerbaijan Youth Day
According to the Decree signed by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev on 2 February, 1997, on February 2 every year was declared Azerbaijan Youth Day. Heydar Aliyev ensured the formation of the essential legislative framework for the successful implementation of state policy in the field of youth.
The Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always believed in the strength and potential of the youth of Azerbaijan, and recommended the promotion of youth in building and management of state: "We will rely on the strength of the young generation in the management of the state and society, and we will make maximum use of their opportunities."
Heydar Aliyev believed in the youth of Azerbaijan, and in his meeting with the youth of the country in 1998, he expressed this and said: “Azerbaijan have such as your young people, future, is impregnable and unshakable!" What makes me extremely happy is that there is a youth of Azerbaijan who can keep the future in firm hands, who can always protect Azerbaijan from all troubles, and who can protect the state independence and democratic state of Azerbaijan. These are your, dear children.
The youth policy founded by the Great Leader is successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev.
Currently, youth policy in our country is experiencing a qualitatively new stage.
The spiritual development of young people, patriotism education, education in foreign countries, the work done in the direction of solving the problems of those in need of social protection, the conditions created for the formation and development of youth organizations are the result of great attention to this field.
In the period after 2003, President Ilham Aliyev further improved the development direction of youth policy on the basis of existing traditions. State programs related to the youth of Azerbaijan were adopted, 2007 was declared the “Youth Year”, the Youth Fund was established in 2011, the "Presidential Award for Youth" was established for the first time in the country in 2013, and the Development Strategy of Azerbaijan's youth was approved. Prioritizing national and state interests in youth politics played a decisive role in the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020. The main mission in the war was performed by young people who grew up during the presidency of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Ensuring the employment of young people is also in the center of attention in our country. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, implements various projects aimed at revealing the talents and skills of young people.
The projects implemented abroad and in our country at the initiative of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, play an important role in promoting the successes of Azerbaijan, increasing the activity of our youth and coordinating their activities.
The youth of Azerbaijan, who constantly feel this high attention and care, are trying to justify the trust given to them. In response to this high attitude, young people, who are the guarantors of the bright future of Azerbaijan, mobilize all their strength for the sake of our whole and independent state, work hard for the development of the Motherland, and support the successful domestic and foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev, who relies on them in his policy.
Azerbaijan has entered a new stage in its development. Azerbaijan, which has become a leading country of the South Caucasus with its social development and economic success, has important problems to solve. The youth of Azerbaijan, who played an important role in gaining state independence and ensuring our territorial integrity, will be at the forefront at this stage as well, and will be mobilized to fight for the great and mighty Azerbaijan.
