Vote for extraordinary presidential elections has started in Azerbaijan
Voting for the presidential elections of Azerbaijan has started.
This is the 9th official nationwide election held for the post of the President of Azerbaijan, and the term of office of the person elected as president will be 7 years.
There are 6 million 478 thousand 623 voters in the country and 6 million 524 thousand 203 ballots were printed.
There are 6,319 polling stations in 125 constituencies in Azerbaijan, 26 of which are located in liberated areas.
49 polling stations were established in 37 countries outside Azerbaijan. In total, more than 22,000 voters will be able to exercise their voting rights outside the borders of the country.
More than 2,000 polling stations have installed mobile ramps for the unhindered movement of voters with limited mobility. Braille stencils are provided at each polling station for visually impaired voters to vote freely.
In the elections, 790 international observers represent 49 international organizations and 70 countries. Also, 89 thousand 366 local observers were registered. At the same time, 216 representatives of 109 international media organizations are participating. The webcams were activated at 07:30 today and will remain online until all the processes are completed at the polling station.
The League for the Protection of Labor Rights of Citizens will conduct an "exit poll" together with the "Oracle Advisory Group" organization of the United States.
The Central Election Commission has registered the candidacy of 7 people for the presidency.
