It is National Salvation Day in Azerbaijan

Today is celebrated National Salvation Day in Azerbaijan.

Exactly 31 years ago - in his speech at the session of the Milli Majlis held on 15 June, 1993, the National Leader Heydar Aliyev announced the future development strategy of the Azerbaijani statehood, and today entered the history of Azerbaijan as the National Salvation Day, and the Azerbaijani statehood was saved from the threat of extinction.

On that day, Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power for the second time at the request of the people of Azerbaijan, was elected the chairman of the Supreme Soviet. With this, the tension and conflict that has been going on for many years in the country has subsided.

The country has escaped the threat of civil war and disintegration.

If gaining independence was a prerequisite, the second important issue was to maintain and develop sovereignty, and this became a reality thanks to the will of the national leader. He created the concept of National Azerbaijan statehood. Despite all obstacles, socio-political stability was restored in the country in the shortest possible time.

On 20 June, 1993, Heydar Aliyev held a briefing for local and foreign journalists to convey the truths of Azerbaijan to the world community, and on 21 June, he met with diplomats of a number of countries. The policy carried out in this area brought the republic out of the information blockade. The opinion formed about Azerbaijan in the world has changed in a positive way. It was in such a complex political situation that Heydar Aliyev's great potential became the guarantor of Azerbaijan's independence. The personality of the national leader, his unique political management ability, determination and charisma put an end to the political crisis and the integration of Azerbaijan into the world community began.

In 1997, deputies of the Milli Majlis made a proposal to put June 15 on the calendar as the National Liberation Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the parliament approved this proposal. Since then, Heydar Aliyev's return to power has been celebrated as National Liberation Day.

The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was restored as a result of the policy of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power 31 years ago and saved the Azerbaijani people, the state and the nation from disintegration, which is currently being continued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev.

The brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who duly fulfilled his father's will, liberated our ancient and eternal lands occupied by the Armenian armed forces.

Today, the spirit of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is happy, cheerful. The tricolor flag of Azerbaijan, which he loves more than his life, flies in all of Karabakh, East Zangezur, including Khankendi, Askaran, Aghdara, Khojaly, Khojavend, Aghdara.
