Today is the birthday of Eldar Azizov who a outstanding social-political and statesman, the head of the Executive Power of Baku City

Eldar Aziz oghlu Azizov, an exemplary civil servant who takes responsibility for his work, always focuses on socio-economic problems of the population, and tries to solve them, was born on 28 June, 1957 in Baku. He graduated from the Faculty of History of Azerbaijan State University named after S.M. Kirov with honors diploma in 1979. Since 1979, he worked in various responsible positions in the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Azerbaijan.

Since 1984, he worked as the first secretary of the  Komsomol Committee of 26 Baku Commissars district, and since 1987, as the first secretary of the Baku City Committee. Since 1989, he was elected as the secretary of the Central Committee of the Azerbaijan Komsomol. In 1990, he was elected a people's deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR. Since 1991, he worked as secretary of the Central Committee of the Azerbaijan Youth Union.

Since 1998, he has worked as the head of the department of international relations at the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, since 1999 as the first deputy chairman of the Department of Foreign Relations and Investment Programs of the Executive Power of Baku City, and since March 2000 as the deputy head of the Executive Power of Baku City.

In 2000-2003, he worked the head of the Executive Power of Nizami district, in 2003-2011 the head of the Executive Power of Ganja city, in 2011-2015 the head of the Executive Power of Sumgait city, and in 2015-2018 as the head of the Executive Power of Sabail district.  

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 16, 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Baku City. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 15, 2018, he was appointed as the head of the Executive Power of Baku City.

Mr. Eldar made great contributions to the development of our country in all the positions he held both during the Soviet period and during the period of independence. National Leader Heydar Aliyev entrusted him with great tasks. The National Leader was very demanding in the selection of personnel, and he had a number of strict criteria in personnel matters.

Eldar Azizov deserved the choice of the National Leader and showed his loyalty to him by his practical activities. Eldar Azizov, who has always remained faithful to the ideological and political course defined by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was elected a member of NAP Management Staff at the 7th congress of the New Azerbaijan Party.

One of the main problems affecting the world and our country today is global climate change. Our country supports international initiatives to eliminate the consequences of this global climate change. By the order of President Ilham Aliyev, 2024 was declared the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" in Azerbaijan.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP 29 will be held in Azerbaijan this year in Baku, the capital of our country. Undoubtedly, holding prestigious events in Azerbaijan also demonstrates the fact that our country has the ability to host large-scale events. In recent years, prestigious international sports competitions and cultural events have become commonplace in our country. The capital of our country successfully hosted the continent's number one sports competition, as well as the IV Islamic Solidarity Games, as well as the first European Games.

The development of Azerbaijan, the capital Baku, and contemporary infrastructure made it possible to realize all these big projects. There is no doubt that the services of teacher Eldar, who has a rich management experience, in creating these opportunities and making Baku the most cultural and developed city in the world in recent years are undeniable.

In recent years, the reforms carried out in Baku under the leadership of President Mr.Ilham Aliyev have changed the face of our capital. Most of the social issues have been resolved in the capital. High-quality roads have been built in the city and between settlements, and transport infrastructure has been created. Exemplary neighborhoods have been built in the city, large green zones have been created and trees have been planted in the territory of Baku and surrounding settlements. There is no doubt that Eldar Azizov, has a great role in all these works as an experienced social-political and statesman.

Lecturer Eldar is a skilled official and a caring person as well as a talented writer. He is the author of books and articles dedicated to the glorious history of Azerbaijan and historical figures. The "Difai" book written by him and more than 200 articles have won the great sympathy of Azerbaijani readers.

We congratulate Eldar Azizov, a worthy member of the political team of President Ilham Aliyev, who brought historical victories to Azerbaijan and achieved great achievements, on the occasion of his birthday and wish him new success in his activities.
