In the driest desert of the planet have bloomed

Flowers suddenly bloomed in Chile's Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on the planet.

Purple and white flowers are said to bloom in the desert.

According to information, the flowers most likely belong to the "Nolana paradoxa" genus.

These groundcover flowers do not have an open root system. This rare event happens every 5-7 years. Due to high rainfall, the soil is moist enough for seeds to germinate.

In the last 40 years, the desert has bloomed only 15 times. But this year, the process of climate change probably started earlier than usual. Local meteorologists predict that the entire desert will be covered with flowers in the future due to more rainfall.
