Olive trees have been treated in the capital

.Many olive trees have been planted in our capital Baku city for many years, and these evergreen trees give our city a special beauty. However, for some time, an unidentified disease has been detected in olive trees in various areas of the city, which causes drying and yellowing of some trees.

The state institutions, the public and our residents worry with this issue, the Executive Power of Baku City is taking appropriate preventive measures, in accordance with the institution's order, the condition of olive trees is being investigated in the entire territory of city.

Specifically invited from Israel, an expert in plant, agronomist Gabriel Eliazz,  currently in Baku and, together with local experts, the condition of existing olive trees in various territories of the capital is being investigated, and have been started measures to treat diseased trees.

According to words of Gabriel Eliazis, this situation, which is mainly due to global climate changes, has almost covered the whole world. In Italy, Spain, Greece, brother Turkey, which are the world's leading olive producers, many olive trees have been destroyed due to the disease.

He said that the preventive works carried out by the Executive Power of Baku City prevented the wide spread of this disease.

In order to eliminate diseases observed in olive trees, various treatment methods are applied, trees are fertilized, injected with ampoules containing special chemical medicines, and drying branches are pruned.

 Pruning of branches and drying leaves of infected trees is done in order to prevent the spread to other trees.

 It was also noted that the trees that were pruned for the purpose of rejuvenation were almost not affected by the disease, and carried out rejuvenating pruning of olive trees during the season is one of the essential conditions.
