An event on "Green economy and sustainable development" was held at the Children and Youth Development Center № 2

On 18 October, an event on the theme "Green economy and sustainable development" was held at Baku Children and Youth Development Center № 2. Elman Jafarli, employee of "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity, chairman of "Green World (Yashil Dunya)" Environmental Awareness Public Union, Irada Hasanova, chairman of "Sky and Eco (Sama and Eco)" Social Economic Development Public Union, head of department of "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity, Phd in Biology, associate professor Agil Gasimov attended.

Elman Jafarli, chairman of "Green World (Yashil Dunya)" EAPU, said that the consequences of global climate change are being seriously fought on a global scale. According to him, 198 countries that have supported the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change have started implementing huge projects related to reducing carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

E.Jafarli said that "Global warming caused by human activity leads to vast natural disasters. Floods, landslides, collapses and earthquakes have increased. Soils become saline, forests are destroyed. Population growth, industrialization and urban growth increase air pollution. The main issue that worries the world now is whether we will be able to leave a habitable planet to future generations."

 Irada Hasanova, the chairman of "Sky and Eco (Sama and Eco)" Social Economic Development Assistance Public Union, informed the students about the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in your country this year. She conveyed that the purpose of holding COP events is to find ways to struggle air pollution, come up with new and latest initiatives, and promote best and latest experiences:

"Environmental pollution in the world has reached such a level that scholars are already sounding the alarm. The transition to green energy and green transport is the basic requirement of today. Today, regardless of age and position, everyone should be support the work of environmental protection and green planting actions.

The environmentalist urged schoolchildren to join tree-planting actions, to fight against people who have a hostile attitude towards the living world, who cut down trees, break branches, and cause suffering to stray animals.

Department head of the public legal entity "Dendrology Garden", PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Agil Gasimov made a speech that protection of biological diversity is one of the significant factors in the fight against global climate damage.

A.Gasimov urged schoolchildren to treat the living world with care: "Every person should plant up to 10 trees, take care of them, and grow them." Do not forget: Trees are our breath. Do not break branches, prevent your friends from doing so.

Go to tree-planting actions, criticize those who throw household waste anywhere. This should be your citizenship position."
