On 7 March, an event was held in the Khazar district on the occasion of March 8 - International Women's Day.
The event, jointly organized by the Executive Power of Khazar district and the Khazar district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, was attended by the head of the Executive Power of the district Elshan Salahov, the chairman of the Khazar district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party Namig Ahmadov, the deputies of the EPD heads, women distinguished by their activity in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the district, and female members of the families of martyrs.
Namig Ahmadov, who opened the event with an introductory speech, greeted the participants. He noted that today Azerbaijani women are already active participants in the socio-political, economic and cultural life of our country. They make significant contributions to solving fateful national issues. According to him, the achievements achieved in science, education, culture, healthcare and other fields confirm that Azerbaijani women have great potential.
Later, the head of the Regional Administration of Azerbaijan, Elshan Salahov, congratulated all Azerbaijani women, especially the martyr mothers, on this wonderful day.
According to him, as a result of the real opportunities created with the special attention and care of the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, our women occupy an irreplaceable place in the current socio-political life of independent Azerbaijan.
Emphasizing that consistent measures have been implemented in our country to strengthen gender policy and enhance the role of women in society, Elshan Salahov said that Azerbaijani women are successfully represented in crucial state structures, parliaments and municipalities, actively participate in socio-political, socio-economic, scientific and cultural processes, and make great contributions to the progression of the country's sports.
Deputy Chairman of the Management Staff of the "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity under the authority of the head of the Executive Power of Baku City, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Samira Baghirova said in her speech that
Azerbaijani women have always been the spiritual support of our society and have always lived with lofty ideals.
“Our noble and beautiful mothers have played an unparalleled role in preserving our cultural and spiritual wealth, which has been formed over thousands of years.
Our women have made exceptional contributions to the history of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani women have actively participated in the work of national state building and fought shoulder to shoulder with men in the struggle for our territorial integrity.
Thousands of our brave men who died for our independence and territorial integrity are, first and foremost, heroes raised by mothers,” she said.
Expressing her best wishes to the mothers and wives of martyrs, lifelong companions of veterans, and mothers of soldiers who raised worthy sons for the people, Samira Baghirova said that they are now celebrating this holiday with greater pride and openness: “Because the children raised and brought up in a healthy spirit by our heroic mothers liberated our lands from occupation in the Patriotic War and ensured territorial integrity.”
Speaking on behalf of the families of the martyrs, the mothers of the martyrs, Maleyka Majidova and Aida Ibahimova, expressed their deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the special attention and care shown to them by our state.
Finally, a group of women were awarded with "Letters of Appreciation" from the Executive Power of Khazar District and the Khazar District Organization of the People's Party of Azerbaijan (NAP), for their active participation in the public life of the region and achievements in their labor activities, and were presented with bouquets of flowers and holiday gifts.
