An event dedicated to March 31 - Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis was held in Khazar district

On 1 April, an event dedicated to "March 31 – Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis" was held at secondary school №123 in Mardakan settlement, organized by the Executive Power of Khazar district.

The event was attended by deputies of the regional administration and department heads, chairman of the Khazar district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, deputy chairman of the Management Staff of the "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity (PLE) under the chairman of the Executive Power of Baku City, PhD in biology, associate professor Samira Baghirova, heads of law enforcement agencies, education, healthcare, departments, and enterprises of the region, representatives of the regional administration head in the administrative-territorial districts of the settlement, mayors, teachers and students of secondary school №123, as well as representatives of the regional public.

Elshan Gurbanov, first deputy head of the Executive Power of Khazar district, provided information about the mass killings and massacres committed by Armenian vandals in Azerbaijan.

He noted that by committing this massacre, the Armenian Dashnaks committed an unprecedented crime in human history. E.Gurbanov noted that the true legal and political assessment of the March 31 genocide was given by the decree "On the Genocide of Azerbaijanis" signed by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev on 26 March, 1998.

Namig Ahmadov, Chairman of the Khazar District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Tavakkul Salimov, Chairman of the Khazar District Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers, Hazarkhan Abilov, emphasized that these bloody events will never be erased from memory.

At the end of the event, students of secondary school №123 performed an artistic composition dedicated to the genocide. Then, flowers were laid in front of the monument erected in memory of the Turkish soldiers who died while preventing the genocide committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijanis, and the memory of the martyrs was commemorated with respect.
