An international conference was held at the LSU on the topic “Biological diversity protection and towards ecologically sustainable socio-economic development”

Lankaran State University (LDU) hosted an international scientific conference on “Biological diversity protection and towards ecologically sustainable socio-economic development”.
Rector of Lankaran State University, Professor Natig Ibrahimov said that the conference was dedicated to the most crucial problems of the globalized world and called the protection of ecological balance the salvation of humanity.
Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of LSU, Associate Professor Ramiz Shammadov gave a comprehensive report on “Biological diversity protection and sustainable socio-economic development”. 
Professor Yavuz Ozturklar, Professor of Kavkaz (Kars) University, and Associate Professor Mammadhuseyn Huseynov, head of the Department of “Biology and Ecology” of LSU, made speeches around the report.
After the plenary session, the conference went on its work in sections. More than 100 theses were heard in the sections “Ecological sustainability and alternative development”, “Biodiversity protection and sustainable development”. 
Researchers from 10 countries, including the USA, Russia, Great Britain, Italy, Türkiye,Kazakhstan, etc., attended in the international scientific conference.
It should be noted that researchers from approximately 20 higher education institutions and scientific organizations of the country participated in the international scientific conference at LSU in online and offline formats.
The crew of the Department of “Plant Protection and Development” of the “Dendrology Garden” public legal entity under the authority of the head of the Executive Power of Baku City, who took part in the international scientific conference, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Associate Professor Murad Musayev and Khadija Aliyeva, made a speech on the topic “The Importance and Distribution Area of ​​the European Smoketree (Cotinus) Plant”.
