Monitoring was conducted in order to monitor the development dynamics of plants in Dendrology Garden

On 16 March, 2026, employees of the “Dendrochronology” and “Forest Ecosystem” laboratories of the “DendrologybGarden” public legal entity (PLE) conducted monitoring in the Pinus Eldarica Medw., Pinus halapensis Mill. and Quercus castaneifolia C.A.Mey species in order to monitor the development dynamics by age class and to select various agrotechnical maintenance measures at each stage.

During the monitoring, the average annual growth in diameter of each species under study was determined.

As a consequence of the research conducted in the specific ecological conditions of the Mardakan area, it was determined that among the studied species, Pinus halepensis has an absolute advantage in terms of diameter growth rate.

From a dendrochronological point of view, this indicator proves that the species quickly converts the moisture and marine climate resources of the area into wood mass by absorbing them to a high degree.

Taking into account the specific climate of Mardakan (dry summer, strong Khazri gust, sandy soil) and the obtained growth figures, an annual agrotechnical maintenance calendar has been compiled by the "Forest Ecosystems" laboratory.
