Seed exchange between “Dendrology Garden” PLE and Ganja Botanical Garden

A seed exchange was carried out between “Dendrology Garden”, a public legal entity under the authority of the head of Executive Power of Baku City, and the Botanical Garden of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Ganja branch) in order to protect plant biodiversity and expand scientific cooperation.
As part of the exchange, staff of the “Forest Ecosystems” Laboratory of “Dendrology Garden” PLE presented seeds of a number of decorative and rare plant species for the garden to utilize.
The presented seeds include the following species: Koelreuteria bipinnata (false soap tree), Quercus ilex (stone oak), Xanthoceras sorbifolium (three-leafed jackal), Genista hispanica (Spanish gentian), Callistemon lanceolatus (lanceolate callistemon) and Leucaena pulverulenta (white-headed mimosa).
The seeds in question are intended to be grown, introduced and used in scientific research in the institute's collection areas. This initiative serves to preserve plant diversity, test new species and further strengthen scientific cooperation.
It should be noted that such cooperation initiatives make a significant contribution to the development of scientific research in the field of botany and dendrology, as well as the dissemination of rare and promising plant species.
