Preparation of "Garden Ointment" preparation

On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, one of the main directions of the work related to the development of the non-oil sector is the development of vegetable and fruit growing. Currently, in all regions, along with the reconstruction of old orchards, great work is being done in the direction of creating new intensive horticultural farms. During garden maintenance, extensive preventive pruning works are carried out in autumn and spring, which in turn creates a great need to treat the cut places of trees with special protective means in order not to be infected with various pests, fungi, bacteria, and viral diseases. As a result of the global warming observed in recent years, increasing natural cataclysms (strong winds, hurricanes) make this problem even more urgent. For this purpose, foreign, especially from the CIS Commonwealth of Independent States) countries, tools with different composition are brought, but most of them do not meet modern requirements; does not match the climatic conditions, although it has a good effect in the winter, it becomes unstable against the heat in the summer, it melts; some dry trees; and some have no positive effect at all. In order to prevent the arising problems, it is necessary to prepare a new "Garden ointment" preparation based on the local raw material base. For this purpose, the "Garden ointment" purchased on the basis of the project "Purchasing and applying a new ecologically safe garden ointment based on local raw materials" developed with the mutual cooperation of the specialists of the Ministry of Science and Education Republic of Azerbaijan  Experimental Industrial Plant LLC and the Dendrology Garden PLE will not only fully solve the listed problems, but also contribute to the development of horticulture farms.   

The scientific idea of the project is to produce, for the first time in the republic, using local base raw materials, "garden ointment" as a protective preparation to prevent infection with various diseases that occur in the bark and wood of fruit trees during pruning.

During the development of the project, laboratory-test samples of the "garden ointment"  producing is prepared; study of the physico-chemical indicators of the prepared test samples in laboratory devices; specification of technological parameters of the production process of products (temperature, time, rate of supply of base raw materials and reagents, etc.), recipes in the laboratory pilot plant; selection of the final recipe as a result of the comparative analysis of the results obtained from the field tests; on the basis of the received results and test protocols, the preparation of normative and technical documents for the product (technological regulations, technical conditions, conformity certificates, etc.) will be carried out.

With this, it is possible to achieve the protection of orchards, the full supply of the country's domestic market with various fruit products, as well as the increase of the export potential. The production and application of garden ointment will give a great impetus to the development of horticultural farms, to make the existing orchards healthy, long-lived and productive, and to ensure Food Security in the country.
