Today is Novruz Holiday
Today, the Azerbaijani people celebrate one of their favorite holidays, Nowruz.
This year, spring will enter Azerbaijan on 20 March, at 18:45:53 Baku time.
At this time, the day and night will be equal. The sun will move along the ecliptic and move from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere. From that moment, the spring season will begin in the Northern Hemisphere.
The spring season in the Northern Hemisphere will last until June 21.
The Novruz holiday, which is related to the eternal laws of nature and the unchanging order of the universe, is the first day of spring, which announces the equinox of the day and night. The celebration of Novruz means welcoming the new year, the first day of spring.
The Novruz holiday was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List on 30 September, 2009.
Novruz holiday, which symbolizes the arrival of spring, the awakening of nature and the renewal of the human spirit, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Azerbaijan. This holy day, which has been passed down from the memory of millennia, combines the national and spiritual values, customs and traditions of our people and the spirit of unity.
Novruz holiday is not only a calendar event, but also the beginning of life again. The harshness of winter is left behind, the earth breathes, trees sprout, rivers are freed from ice. People are also renewed together with nature, hearts are purified, and resentment is forgotten.
Four Charshanbas (Wednesdays)- water, fire, wind and earth Wednesdays - reflect the ancient worldview of our people. Every Wednesday calls on people to cleanse, renew and live in harmony with nature.
Holiday tables today are distinguished by their special diversity. The sky is the crown of the tables as a symbol of abundance and green life. Sweets – shakarbura, bakhlava, goghal – are an indicator of the rich cuisine and aesthetic taste of our people. Hospitality reigns in every home, people visit each other, and quarrels are reconciled.
In the evening, bonfires are lit, people jump over the flames and “burn the burdens of the old year” in the fire. This ancient custom is also a symbol of spiritual purification of a person.
Novruz holiday is also a holiday of unity and solidarity in our society. Today, people treat each other with love, compassion and goodwill.
May this spring bring peace, joy, prosperity and prosperity to our country and our world.
Happy holiday!
