Specialists of the “Dendrology Garden” Public Legal Entity (PLE) participated in the international scientific conference
Staff of the “Ecology and Acclimatization” Laboratory of the “Dendrology Garden” public legal entity (PLE) participated in “ESPI-2026” Youth International Scientific Conference, held in the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the University, jointly organized in a hybrid format by the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) and the Charity Fund “Revival of Nature” in Moscow, Russian Federation, in an online format.
As part of the conference, the staff presented an article entitled “Prospects of plant species and bioecological aspects in oil-contaminated saline soils of the Absheron Peninsula”, dedicated to the current ecological issues of the Absheron Peninsula.
The research study investigated the bioecological characteristics of plant species under the conditions of widespread salinization and oil pollution on the Absheron Peninsula, and assessed the ability of various tree and shrub (bush) species to adapt to these complex ecological conditions.
At the same time, the impact of changes in the physical and chemical properties of the soil on plant progress was analyzed, and the significance of selecting suitable species for ecosystem restoration was emphasized.
The consequences of the investigation show that the selection of salt-and drought-resistant plant species, as well as improving the land reclamation status of soils, is of great importance in terms of restoring ecological balance and increasing soil productivity on the Absheron Peninsula.
This research work, presented at an international scientific platform, contributes to the international promotion of ecological research conducted in our country and the establishment of future cooperation.
Distinguished colleagues at the conference were awarded certificates.
