Oriental plane tree - Platanus orientalis L. has been introduced to Dendrology Garden
On 31 March, 2026, 5 Oriental plane trees (Platanus orientalis L.) brought from Ganja city were included in the collection fund of the Dendrology Garden. The species was introduced by staff of the “Forest Ecosystems” laboratory of the public legal entity (PLE) “Dendrology Garden”.
According to experts, Oriental plane tree, in addition to having high adaptability, plays a crucial role in regulating the microclimate and improving air quality in the urban environment.
It should be noted that the introduction process was carried out in accordance with agrotechnical and phytosanitary requirements. Initial observations show that the plant has successfully adapted to the new environment.
This step is considered significant in terms of defending rare and valuable plant species, as well as enriching biodiversity in the country.
