A seminar on "General ecological situation and its analysis" was held for employees of "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity

On August 23, 2023, a seminar on "General ecological situation and its analysis" was held by PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Zaman Mammadov with the participation of laboratory employees of the public legal entity "Dendrology Garden".

Zaman Mammadov talk about the environmental problems observed in the world as well as in our country. The expert said that environmental problems have reached a dangerous level.

  During the seminar, they talked about the consequences of global climate change, the difficulties it revealed as a result of salinization and salinization of fertile soils suitable for cultivation.

 It was noted that environmental problems, changes in the structure and function of nature are caused by various environmental factors. In modern times, environmental problems is included climate changes, destruction of biodiversity, increase in soil, water and air pollution, soil erosion, etc.  

  The mankind have scientific and technical progress, but at the same time, it also leads to the increase of environmental problems.

 As the technology developed, the supply of oxygen began to decrease and carbon dioxide increased. Depletion of the ozone layer and serious depletion of oxygen gas cause other consequences in a chain of making the ecological situation intolerable.

Harmful rays of the sun, lack of air, sharp climate change, increase in natural disasters are the negatives arising from these consequences.

Ways to reduce the consequences caused by environmental problems were also discussed, and it was noted that one of the main sources of atmospheric pollution are vehicles. Therefore, the introduction of electric cars should be accelerated.

Water resources should be used efficiently and measures should be taken to prevent pollution of water bodies.

In order to prevent soil degradation, desertification, and protect against climate change, awareness-raising activities should be conducted among farmers and local communities on the efficient use of soil resources.

Also, in order to protect biological diversity, the area of protected areas should be expanded, and measures should be taken to restore endangered plant and animal species.

In the seminar, the landscape structure of the Republic of Azerbaijan, soil erosion, degradation and soil-cultivating factors, as well as the importance of forests, etc. was provided detailed information.

   In the seminar on "General ecological situation and its analysis", a social video was watched, which talked about how important the soil is as a basic raw material.

At the end, a wide and interesting discussion was held with the employees, the questions of the participants were answered.
