A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between "Dendrology Garden" and the Main Botanical Garden of NAS of Belarus

Under the authority of the head of the Executive Power of Baku City of the Republic of Azerbaijan, "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity, in accordance with the approved Charter, conducts studies with the state and local self-government bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the relevant state institutions of foreign countries, to investigate the possibilities of applying international experience and conduct mutual research.

In the last years productivity cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus in the political, economic and cultural fields, the Dendrology Garden has been expanding relations with the Main Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in such areas as increasing biodiversity, ornamental garden (horticulture) and landscape architecture, ecology and environmental protection. For this purpose, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Main Botanical Garden of NAS of Belarus and the public legal entity "Dendrology Garden" in order to study the solution of the problems of world flora protection with innovative methods.

In order to sign the memorandum of cooperation, on November 1-3, 2023, a group lead by the representative of the Administrative Personnel of the public legal entity "Dendrology Garden" Samira Baghirova, PhD in biology, associate professor, have been business trip  to Minsk, Republic of Belarus, at the invitation of the guidance of the Main Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.  

 This agreement signed between the two gardens will create conditions for the expansion of mutual cooperation, mobility and friendly relations.

The representatives of the Dendrology Garden were received with hospitality by the staff of the Main Botanical Garden of NAS of Belarus, they got acquainted with the territory of the 96-hectare garden, collection fund, greenhouses, laboratories, and biotechnological researchs.

Recently, mutual scientific discussions on global climate change and environmental problems were held and bilateral cooperation to be organized in the future was discussed.

Also, the staff of the Main Botanical Garden of Belarus was given information about the structure of the Dendrology Garden, modern equipment and species diversity in the garden territory.

 The director of the garden, Privalov Fyodor Ivanovich, highly appreciated this visit, and an agreement was reached on strengthening relations and organizing such meetings more often in the future.
