Dendrology Garden is going on international cooperation
Local and international cooperations are preservation of biodiversity, reproduction of species, and provision of sustainable development among the priority issues of state policy in our country. In this direction, bilateral cooperation with developed countries is established on the basis of relevant agreements, existing relations are expanded, and essential measures are implemented.
In accordance with the approved Charter of "Dendrology Garden" public legal entity under the head of the Executive Power of Baku City of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues international cooperation for the purpose of conducting mutual research.
For the increasing biodiversity, seeds are regularly exchanged with the Botanical Garden of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia.
10 various seed samples – Annona mucosa Jacq., Coffea arabica L., Musa velutina H. Wendl. & Drude., Pachira aquatica Aubl., Abies koreana E.H.Wilson., Acer palmatum Thunb., Euonymus alatus Siebold., Sorbus commixta Hedl., Syringa x swegiflexa, Taxus cuspidata Siebold & Zucc. obtained with the exchange from the Botanical Garden of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University of Košice.
The bioecological characteristics of these species, the methods of cultivation and reproduction in the soil and climate conditions of the Absheron Peninsula were investigated by the "Ecology and Acclimatization" laboratory of the Dendrology Garden, and they were introduced into the garden area.
