Dendrology Garden has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Batumi Botanical Garden
"Dendrology Garden" public legal entity under the authority of the head of the Executive Power of Baku City, in accordance with the approved Charter, conducts studies with the state and local self-government bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the relevant state institutions of foreign countries, to investigate the possibilities of applying international experience, to conduct joint research. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the public legal entity “Dendrology Garden” and Batumi Botanical Garden for the purpose of studying the solutions to the problems of protecting the world's flora using innovative methods.
Against the background of the need to expand scientific-social relations and the development of friendly neighborly relations between our countries, the agreement signed between the representatives of the two countries agreed on a number of cooperation issues.
Based on the agreement reached, the parties agreed to develop the scientific basis for the protection of the flora, the collection, reproduction and effective use of rare plants, the development and collection of seed funds, the formation of local and foreign plant collections, the protection of biodiversity, the organization of international exchange of experience, fundamental, applied and innovative in the field of horticulture. They will cooperate in the field of conducting studies in the field of plant introduction, organization of comparative monitoring of the dendroflora of the two countries, taking into account the achievements of research, botanical and the international world.
The agreement also includes joint action in different soil and climate conditions, protection of environmental balance and achievement of rich development of the world's flora, including cooperation in the field of dendrology, biology, ecology, scientific research and exchange of experience.
The agreement also defined the directions of cooperation.
Joint cooperation includes cooperation in the field of protection, restoration and development of the nature, ecology, and flora of the two countries, improving the information technology of basic and applied scientific research, informing the other party about the research conducted by the garden, especially the research conducted in the fields of activity, and conducting joint analytical analysis, including issues of organizing the exchange of seeds, plants, tree and shrub samples in order to increase the variety of plants, taking into purpose the available opportunities.
Within the framework of this partnership, it is planned to organize joint conferences on scientific and technical issues and implement projects.
Within the framework of this agreement on scientific and technical cooperation, the parties will also organize business trips and expeditions of their employees jointly and mutually within the available financial possibilities for the exchange of accumulated experience.
In the field of plant protection, a common exchange of ideas will be provided on the research conducted in the Garden, especially in the field of forest ecosystem protection, regarding the genetic aspects of biodiversity protection in natural flora.
In order to preserve and reproduce the forest ecosystem, joint projects will be implemented, including tree planting campaigns and greening measures.
The agreement includes achieving the publication of articles on the conducted joint scientific research in sufficiently prestigious journals, and implementing information exchange in order to ensure mobility in the research conducted on the introduction of plants.
It is to support the development of mutual communication and cooperation between both institutions by helping highly qualified personnel to carry out scientific and practical research and research in the relevant field.
It should be noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the representative of the Administrative Personnel of the public legal entity "Dendrology Garden", PhD in Biology, associate professor Samira Baghirova and the director of Batumi Botanical Garden Irakli Archayi.
This agreement signed between the two gardens will create conditions for the expansion of mutual cooperation, mobility and friendly relations.
